WHAT IS A PUGGLE ANYWAY?

Puggles are a popular new designer breed recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club.  They are created by breeding a registered beagle with a registered pug.  The resulting puppies have a mixture of the traits of both breeds.

Beagles have a social personality and make great family pets.  They have plenty of energy and need a place for exercise.  They should be leashed when outdoors to prevent them from following their hunting instints.  Adult beagles typically range from 20 to 25 pounds and have short smooth coats that are easy to maintain.  They are considered average shedders and regular brushing will help control the coat.

Pugs are a stocky medium sized breed which weigh up to 20 pounds as adults.  It also has a short coat that benefits from regular brushing.  The facial wrinkles will require regular cleaning.  Pugs benefit from regular exercise, but can become overexerted because of breathing limitations.  This also causes Pugs to be prone to colds, so temperature extremes should be avoided.

Both breeds are playful, intelligent, and good with children.  Life expectancy is about 12 to 15 years.
